New owners for Cygnet!

As of October 13, 2015,  Cygnet has new owners (although Tom and Anne will keep a small interest).  Welcome to our old friends Howard and Shag Crisp, who will love and take care of Cygnet into the future.

Father - Son Mini-cruise to Bowers Harbor

Graham and I sailed Cygnet to Bowers Harbor on the night of August 26.  We had a lovely sail, beating out of Suttons Bay, then a run all the way to Bowers.  A quiet night at anchor, except I was driven from my cockpit bunk by a misty rain in the wee hours of the morning.  It cleared off by sunrise and we had a motorsail back to SB.

The last of this weeks fall weather moving out.

2105 Annual Power Island Sail

This year Anne and Graham came along.  Emma was teaching at the UM Bug Camp, so she could not go with us.

Fuel Fill Hose Replacement

Here is what a 47 year-old fuel fill hose looks like (right in photo).  This came out of my Dickerson 35 CYGNET this week.  I replaced it with a USCG A2 approved hose (1-7/8" diameter).  I had to remove the deck plate, move the holding tank vent hose and cut away some of the seat locker bottom panel for access.  Key to getting the new hose (with a spiral wire embedded) on the fittings was a little Joy liquid on the fittings. I kept a clean rag in tank opening during the replacement process to keep little bits of junk out of the tank.  By the way, the 47 year old monel tank looks like new.

Birthday Cruise (Singlehanded) to Power Island

With the entire family scattered across Michigan, I head out on the annual birthday cruise (June 13) with the only crew I could find, myself.

At South Fox Island

It seemed like a perfect night to stay at S. Fox....but that was not to be. We left at 0130 with wind and a big sea.
